From one piping contractor, to a company that carries on his way
S. Gotovski is a family company. Shmulik Gotovski started in 1972 as a piping and infrastructure contractor, at a time when Israel's fuel infrastructure was built by hand, with almost no written standards and no dedicated equipment. Shmulik learned the trade in the field: how to set a tank so it will not move, how to weld a joint so it will not leak, and how to close a pipe so it holds. In 1988 the business was incorporated as S.G. Gotovski Ltd., and it has operated under that name ever since.
What he demanded of himself and his crews was simple: whatever gets sealed under the ground has to hold forever, because nobody will come to check. Pipe joints he made decades ago are still tight and in service, and even today, when an old forecourt is opened and his work is reached, it is hard to take apart. That was his legacy: no shortcuts.
Shmulik passed away in 2008. The company is now run by his two sons, Uzi and Eyal Gotovski, who learned the trade from him in the field, from the first excavation to handover. The knowledge passed from father to sons now meets the strictest standards, our own heavy equipment and permanent crews, and exactly the same principle: build once, build right.
