Earthworks and site development, with our own equipment

Excavation, backfill and compaction, site preparation, tank pits, drainage, paving and retaining walls, carried out with our own heavy equipment and permanent crews.

The pit is the foundation of the station

Every station starts with a hole in the ground, and what is done in it determines whether the tanks sit right, whether the forecourt holds and whether the water drains where it should. A tank pit must be excavated to exact dimensions and depth, with suitable bedding, containment liners and anchoring, and at sites with a high water table, dewatering during the work.

We do the earthworks ourselves, with our own heavy equipment and permanent crews, so excavation, backfill, compaction and site development are coordinated with the rest of the work and do not depend on a subcontractor.

What the service includes

From excavation to paving

  • Excavation, backfill and compactionControlled excavation, backfill in layers and compaction per the requirements.
  • Site preparationClearing, leveling and preparing the plot for construction.
  • Tank pitsPrecise excavation, bedding, containment liners and tank anchoring.
  • Drainage and channelsRunoff drainage channels, slopes and separators.
  • Paving and forecourtsConcrete forecourts, interlocking pavers and compaction.
  • Retaining wallsLike the wall 64 meters long and 3 meters high at the Nover station in Ashdod.
  • Removing contaminated soilExcavation, removal to a licensed site and placing clean soil.
  • Our own heavy equipmentBackhoes, rollers and dedicated equipment, with no dependence on subcontractors.
How it works

Earthworks in five stages

  1. 01Survey and planning

Marking out, level surveys and planning depths and slopes.

  2. 02Excavation

Controlled excavation for the tank pit and the trenches, including dewatering if needed.

  3. 03Bedding and liner

Suitable bedding, containment liners and tank anchoring.

  4. 04Backfill and compaction

Backfill in layers and compaction, tested per the requirements.

  5. 05Development and paving

Drainage, walls, concrete forecourts and paving through to handover.

Featured project

Nover, Ashdod: a 64-meter retaining wall

As part of rebuilding the Nover station in Ashdod, the station was expanded with infrastructure for car wash machines and truck access, including a retaining wall 64 meters long and 3 meters high. At the Hetzi Hinam station in Holon a fuel tank was buried four meters deep, including a containment liner and tank anchoring, and runoff drainage channels were built.

  • 64 m retaining wall
  • Tank 4 m deep
  • Drainage channels
  • Containment liners

In the renovation of the Dor Alon station in Eilot we excavated about two meters deep, removed contaminated soil to a licensed site and placed clean soil. All projects

FAQ

Questions about Earthworks

Do you also do earthworks that are not part of building a station?

Yes. Earthworks, site development, drainage and paving are a field in their own right for us, for fuel and LPG stations, data centers and infrastructure sites.

What happens when the water table is high?

The tank pit is excavated with dewatering during the work, and the tanks are anchored against flotation. This is set during planning, based on the soil survey.

Who supplies the equipment?

We do. We have our own heavy equipment and permanent crews, so the schedule does not depend on the availability of subcontractors.
